Zastava's "E" Litter has arrived!

We are very happy to report our latest news! Our Liza delivered her first litter on September 1st and our Zastava’s family became bigger with 2 boys and 3 girls! Liza is in great physical shape with her sport training and even though her pups were very large Liza did an excellent job on delivery. Babies are very strong and doing wonderful with their main task- growing!
Unfortunately Liza’s owner, Julie got into the hospital day before delivery and her full recovery will take a few more weeks; I want to ask all our friends to pray for Julie’s health.
A special thanks from the bottom of my hart to Bryan, Julie’s husband, who was not only a great help during delivery and the first days but now he is the one who is taking care of Liza and her babies, and doing an amazing job!
Our best wishes to babies and congratulations to their soon-to-be-owners!

Happy 9th Birthday Rusah!

Our warmest wishes and congratulations to Rusah (Multi Ch Furry Rusah Siberian Star CGN, CD-X, RE, DD, Mobility Assistance Dog) on her 9th Birthday! Daughter of our William (Multi CH. William Edward Dale TT1, OKD1, ZKS1) and mother of our Milana (IABCA Int. CH.,CKC, UKC CH. MidnightSolo Unity for Zastava, CGC, TT, AKC RAE, CKC RN ), she is the matriarch of Midnight Solo Kennel and one of most outstanding BRTs I have met in my life: multitalented and multititled working and show champion herself, mother of many champions… we can talk and talk about Rusah’s   achievements and qualities, but besides all of that, and most important, Rusah is an amazing companion and soul mate of my friends Jean and Troy Brown.
I am lucky to know Rusah very closely. She is THE DOG, she IS pride. Stable and reliable as a rock, Rusah is the queen of the house (and absolutely any other place she is at the momentJ), she is a friend, she is a helper, she is a huggy bear and she is a protector… and a perfect example of the expression “what I need my dog becomes”…
Happy Birthday to you, our beloved girl!

There is no possible way to thank enough for the  enormous quantity of time and work Jean put in Rusah or for unconditional love Jean and Troy give her! Many more years of happiness to you guys together!

Our best wishes and congratulations on 9th Birthday to Rusah’s  littermates Anya , Shayna , Taras and Luka from Zastava Kennel!

Nobody could pass these two black bear cubs without petting them, and they enjoyed it greatly! After the walk through the downtown of Grayslake everyone gathered at the square where judges were giving trophies to “stars” of the parade. One of the trophies went to “Big Black Russian Dogs” (this is how we were announced)for representation of the breed! Great job, girls!

August 4-5 2012, Obedience Laboratory Training Center, Huron Township, MI
While our big girls working their tails off for Champion’s Titles, our baby Stoli( Zastava D’Artagnan) got  “Grand Champion” Ribbon in his Basic Obedience Class!
Stoli is one of Zastava Twins litter lives with his new family in Rockwoods, MI.
This is what his owner, Lauren wrote about Stoli’s achievement:
“Stoli just passed his 7 week Basic Obedience class and won Grand Champion ribbon as the last class was all competition on what the dogs learned. The trainer was not only looking for the skills but also precision in how they responded and listened. If it was a sloppy sit, she deducted points, if she asked for a turn, she didn’t want us tugging the leash to make them turn, she wanted their attention on you and turning with you etc. Stoli did really well and was the youngest in his class. My son Freddy was with me and when trainer announced Stoli the winner  we didn’t want to be obnoxious , but when we got in the car, we were high fiving each other and Stoli too!!”
Our congratulations and thanks to Lauren, Fred and Freddy Therrien for their wonderful care of our baby !
Good luck to Stoli in his Advanced Obedience Class he starts soon! Go, Stoli!

Our thanks and congratulations to Milana’s breeders Jean & Troy Brown , owners  of Rusah, Milana’s mother and Debby and Ken Lynn, owners of Milana’s father Onyx !
